This is a good example what happens when replacing equipment is too
simple a "plug and play" swapout...people don't bother to read the
installation instructions. If you had, you'd have seen the drawings on
page 3 of the manual showing the location of the intake vented loop.
Similar illustrations showing the intake vented loop location--always
beteen the pump and the bowl, never between the thru-hull and the
pump--are included in the installation instructions for all manual toilets.

I hope you did keep the manual, though...'cuz it includes an exploded
drawing and parts list that you may need.

Those who reply that it's between the thru-hull and the pump, and that
it does work, no longer have a VENTED loop, but one on which the vent
has become clogged with sea water minerals, turning it into an unvented
loop.

Unless you can run the line from the pump through a bulkhead into a
hanging locker, you don't. Things like exposed plumbing and seacocks are
what distinguishes boats from RVs. :)

Btw...which model W-C toilet did you toss out? If replacing it with the
Compact II was indeed "plug and play," it had to be a Headmate, which IS
still in production.
