Hi Peggie,

Good to see you on the list! I hope you're doing well.

The answer to Rick's question is (I think) "every boat that hasn't had
the loop changed". The vented loop placement was apparently something
that didn't translate well into Chinese. Master Huang's solution was
apparently to place a non-functional vent in the strange location the
crazy Americans wanted it so the head would function.

(Peggie, Master Huang is the mythical dockyard foreman with centuries
of experience and a really twisted sense of humor who's "jokes" only
reach the punchline when some poor owner discovers them decades later.)

If you use the white shields hose with the black forespar loop and
white "wire hanger" type holders to attach it to the bulkhead, it
actually looks pretty nice. (You don't need to use the white
sanitation hose, but it looks better than the clear or black hose.
Turn it so that the label faces away.) I believe you could probably
stain the hose brown (and maybe do a faux finish on it) to make it
match the interior colors - but we haven't done this.

On the Baba 30, it would be possible to run the loop up inside the
cabinet near the chainplate, but that was more work than we wanted to
deal with. As I said, it doesn't look bad at all on the bulkhead and
it's a lot better than "wet butt".

Somewhere I have a picture, but I'm at work now and don't have access
to my server.
