Glad to learn that I am not alone. I would probably sail even more if it
weren't for that damned sail cover.

The two big bothers are the sail cover and the 120 Volt shore power supply.
All the other little tasks (cockpit VHF, remote for autopilot, cockpit
chartplotter, etc.), feels like part of getting ready for sailing. I can
accept the need to remove the sail cover, but I wish I had a boat-slave to
put it back on when I'm done.

All this talk about boom and in-mast furlers makes my mouth water.

On another matter, the steering wheel adapter for the Fleming windvane -
Fleming's design is fairly good, but not as flexible or reliable as the
Monitor unit you showed me. The Fleming has to be ordered from the factory
for mounting either fore or aft of the steering wheel. Can't be switched.
And the clutch pin requires too tight a tolerance, so that it either pops
out, or worse, on a few occasions, failed to release. But with a few hours
of staring at it, and then spending far too much time fiddling with the
small details, I was able to modify the Fleming design so that it works
almost as well as the Monitor. At one point, I was thinking that I might
have to bite the bullet and spend another $450 to replace the Fleming wheel
adapter with that from Monitor. Very simple modification may have solved the
problem - but I have to test it more extensively. (The modification HAD to
be simple, since my machining skills are extremely primitive.)
