The real down side to oiling exterior teak is it becomes a dust and dirt
magnet. Particularly in the spring, when pollen is flying around, this
is a Bad Thing.

I've found that Cetol works best if one admits the surface needs to be
sanded. Start with 150 to prep the wood (takes the old Cetol down if
not off and cleans up bumps, etc.) and 220 between coats #1 and #2.
This avoids turning the boat "Cetol orange" and "unsightly Cetol
buildup" [laugh] and, because the goal is only to prep the surface, not
take it back to bare wood, the job actually goes quite quickly.
