About a year ago I replaced my original galley faucet with a Peerless
(Orchard Supply) which was intended as a bathroom fixture but fit in my
two hole application well. The water does come down at an angle
forwards (not straight down), but it's a rather short swiveling neck, so
that at an angle, the water goes right where we want it.

As I recall, the manual that came with the faucet explained that there
was a plastic restrictor device within the screw-in nozzle to help save
water. After removing this device, the flow is just great even with our
little fresh-water pump. Maybe other non-marine faucets would be
similar.

At the same time I replaced the original tiny double galley basin with a
new single basin (we avoid using the word s*nk on our boat). Now it's
actually large enough to wash a dinner plate or fill a pot. The new
basin wasn't a perfect fit, but it's pretty good. I had to install some
small teak strips at either end to fill the gap. If anyone wants to
know what sink I used, let me know.
