Regarding low water pressure for galley and head/shower, check if the
fresh water pump pressure is
adjustable. A Groco Paragon Jr. pump can have the cut in/cut out
pressures set at any level - - high enough
to blow all your hose clamps off if desired. We use the same model
pump for a salt water deck/anchor wash at 50 psi.
Each pump has a pressure accumulator tank, and the original pumps
have been in service for 20 years.

Previously, someone mentioned not having enough pressure for a
separate pull out hand spray to
divert the water from the faucet. Try an "Incredible Tap Saver
Deluxe" on the end of the faucet just
before the aerator. It is a on/off valve that is easy to operate with
the flip of a finger. It will divert
all pressure to the hand spray. And, it saves water as you can easily
start and stop the water flow while
working in the sink or using the hand spray. Search all the small
parts in plumbing/hardware stores for it,
at a cost of about $5 to $8.

As a separate issue, on Tashiba 40, I cut a large access hole - about
15 inches by 5 inches - behind the
aft seatback cushion in the dinette, right behind the galley faucet
and below the galley countertop. It
makes removing and replacing the faucet simple and quick. You cut
through two panels - the wood
that the back cushion rests on, and an inch or two behind it, the
front panel of the galley cabinet. I then
made up a varnished teak panel that screws in place over the opening.

Life would be a lot easier if there were access openings everywhere
to work on the boat. And, holes large
enough to run additional cables and wires whenever and wherever
needed throughout the boat.

P.S. I recently saw a new, very large, high pressure model of a
Surflo or other major brand pump, for use
as a deck/anchor wash, without an accumulator tank. Does anyone know
which brand and model it could be?
And, has anyone used one of them and can give a report on pressure
and volume of water flow?
