Well I just can't help not making comment... so here we go. I have a Scanvik
galley faucet you can have for next to nothing (cost of mailing it). It is
the snorkel variety that pulls out and it was very expensive. However, these
idiots did not make it so it would swivel. I finally got fed up with it
after a year of not being able to swivel it to the other sink without
pulling it out, so I replaced it with a Delta faucet... and yes, you guessed
it, from Home Depot. I do not care what Scanvik says, they do not build a
good galley faucet that swivels, so they do not pass the test. The Delta
faucet is brushed stainless steel and it operates perfectly at 40 psi with
my water pump. Most important is the unit swivels, and it has a snorkel
head, and it sprays down not out at a angle like the Scanvik as well as many
others. You want to pay particular attention to this fact, down not at an
angle or you will always be wiping up water from the overspray around the
sink. The Delta faucet sprays down with selectable stream on a side mount
valve placed near the head, this is another convenient feature as most
select valves are mounted on the top of the spray head and this is awkward
to reach. Let me know if I have triggered your interest as I can send a
picture or possibly retrieve the model number.

My recommendation after owning a Scanvik galley faucet is, run, do not walk,
to the closest Home Depot or Lowes and look at the Delta line of snorkel
head swivel faucets. Also, if you run across that Scanvik sales guy, tell
him I would like to speak to him about a rebate.

Yep, just busy with boat projects.

Rick has been replacing the coolant pump on the Yanmar. He's also been
cleaning up old rust and painting as he goes. It's sad that a P.O. would
neglect a nice engine like that.

I'm getting ready to replace our galley faucet. We've been using the $25
West marine plastic cheapo faucets which die very quickly. I bought a
nice one at Home Depot and am making a teak plate to cover the old
holes. It's cut, drilled, and sanded. The first sealer coat of varnish
went on today.

We're hoping the boat will be together in time to go to Catalina for
Thanksgiving.
