Ken,

We had true bronze Sea Cocks on our Hans Christian and rebuilt them with
success. I used a small piece of 200 grit wet&dry san paper and wrapped it
on the valve cone and inserted it into the body. Once positioned correctly,
it should allow you to rotate the valve several times inside the
body smoothing out the rough spots inside the body. Then reverse the sand
paper, re-insert into the body and allow the valve to rotate inside the
paper to smooth that part out. This will allow both parts to take on the
correct fit inside eachother. Then reassemble it with grease. Should be
good as new.
