I have since cleaned up and varnished the bowsprit - not as nice as your.
We mounted directly on the bowsprit, without a stainless pad.
The Cayman seems a little smaller - I wonder what the difference is
between the two?
On the related subject of water and the anchor well - I always have
used duct tape when the problem arises.
I did at one time have water coming down around the Samson Post -
which ended up with dry rot in the bulkhead.
I found that the Samson Post was not properly wedged in at the base
in the bottom of the anchor locker - as shown on Perry's drawings.
