Hi Jim,
Screens for the butterfly and forward hatches were an option from Ts Shing
at the time of the purchase of the boat. Mine are wooden frames with brass
or bronze screens. There are two panels per hatch the are hinged on the port
and the starboard sides and have the wooden latches (like all the other
cabinet doors) that secure the in the up position.
I actually took mine off because here in the PNW the bugs don't seem to be
much of a problem and the screens restricted airflow a bit and also
interfered with access to the hatch.

Greetings- Let's talk screens. Are there screens available for the Grand
Deer ports? If not, any construction ideas for screens? What about the
butterfly hatch and v-berth hatch? I was thinking of wood frames with
hinges(left attached) for those two.
One or two piece for the butterfly hatch? What about the companionway?
