For an alternate strategy:
New Standard Horizon 180i chartplotter with built-in GPS = $350.00
Max Navigator chip covering from Neah Bay on the Juan de Fuca to Acapulco,
Mexico, with every single harbor in full detail = $170
Furuno LCD radar 6" = ca. $1,100

Total = $1,620
The difference goes into the cruising kitty, and is enough for a summer of
food beer, occasional stops at marinas for shower, food, laundry, etc. If
you really want that second display down below, add another $350. But $8,530
plus installation extras! Wow!
I think that I will pass on that option.
