Now I'm thinking, why not have AIS on ALL vessels?

Let's not forget the value of the Mk I eyeball in maintaining a watch
for other vessels. Moreover, beware of "target fixation" on watching
tankers, trawlers, and tugs on an AIS plot. A collision with a
"AIS-silent" 20' runabout can also ruin the day.

Cheers,
Rick Emerson
