On the Panda 38 I had to disassemble the stuffing box, remove the quadrant,
remove the upper bearing and remove the 'shoe' (gudgeon?) at the bottom of
the keel. It wasn't too difficult other than the gudgeon. Not sure if my
experience relates well to your situation.

Clearance wise you basically need as much clearance under the boat as there
is rudder shaft in the boat. For me there was not a lot of room to work the
rudder side ways to gain clearance. I wound up digging a small pit to gain
enough room to remove and reinstall the rudder.
