Laura,

This is similar to what I'm doing right now on my Panda 40. I removed to
the tank (per Rob Sicade's excellent instructions, see Rob's SV Yohela
website) and then opted to build an integral fiberglass tank into the bilge
area, from the aft side of the mast step to about two feet from the bilge
sump under the engine. I have a 25 gallon aluminium day tank in the aft end
of the bilge, under the grate.

I'm laying down a couple extra layers of glass & vinylester resin in the
bilge floor and walls and the fore and aft bulkhead and 3 baffles are built
up of the same material and are solidly tabbed in. Finally, a top has been
fabricated with 4 large cleanouts and will be bonded onto the bilge side
walls, baffles and bulkheads in 4 sections.

So, I'll have a day tank and a 110 gallon main tank. I'm playing with the
idea of polishing systems in the main tank, and of course all fuel
transferred to the day tank will be filtered. I'll have about 7 inches
under my floorboards for storage, as well, although all Baba/Panda/Tashiba
bilges are different dimensions, sometimes dramatically different, and this
may not hold true for all.
