I had tank replaced in My Baba 35 several years ago in Seattle by
Seaview boat yard. They did a great job. They cut the floor open
starboard of the tank, pulled the old one out, had a new one fabricated,
and put it back in, and put the floor back. It is hard to tell it ever
happened. I have pictures of the boat opened up if there is any interest.

[Baba-L] Fuel tank - Baba 35

Sigh... there are Baba owners who have replaced fuel tanks, and those
that will replace fuel tanks. We are about to join the "have" group.
Long story short, there's some serious rust on the side of the tank near
a site where fresh water plumbing has leaked repeatedly over OWTW's 20+
years (and who knows what's happened inside the tank...). Removing the
galley joinery, to allow replacing the tank intact, isn't an option so
that means we're faced with putting in two tanks and plumbing that up.
I'd like to hear from people who've done this job recently and, if
possible, in the Chesapeake (particularly Annapolis) area. If a bladder
made sense, I'd take it in a heartbeat but I understand they don't do
well as a long term solution (chafe being the main problem). Also,
after being disappointed by the work of some Annapolis "rock star
types", We're willing to consider moving the boat somewhere else to have
the job done. Any input along those lines is welcome, too.
