Bill,

Your comment, "Ha Ha Ha Ha, I like Tom's sense of humor," would fall flat
with my granddaughters. If they heard you say that, their eyes would roll
and their heads would careen away and downwards in an expression of total
rejection of this almost idiotic remark. When they have to define
"un-funny," the image of grandpa comes instantly to mind.

But to the Point: I got right on your request. (P.S. Tom, will you please
send me 5,000 signed copies of your last posting. I would like to send them
to my closest personal friends.)

My staff is not busy at the moment, my film producer is off to Washington DC
for the week, reducing his e-mails to me from twenty plus a day down to one,
and he forgot to take his mic along to use his computer phone with me. So I
have nothing to do but to do your bidding. We have the 5000 copies completed
and I have signed all. You can't tell by this much corrected note, but I'm
having huge difficulties typing hjyunm with my cramped finger from all the
signature writing (this obviously makes me right-handed). Fortunately, I use
my short nom de plume of Tom Beard rather than my much longer real name or
I'd still be on the job-or soaking my hand in ice water. But back to your
request: Since you are out of the country, might it be better if I just
mailed out the copies to your 5,000 closest friends from here? Send me the
addresses and my un-busy staff and I will get it done in a flash. Postal
rates will be cheaper too (unless most are living outside USA, which as I
recall since you haven't be Stateside in 33 years, may be the case).
Unfortunately, since author-pay is far below minimum wages, I must ask you
to spring for the cost for envelopes and postage. I threw in the ten reams
of paper and printer ink-cartridges as a token of our friendship. Please
advise.

Enjoy your cruising while I work here at the office.

Tom
