Jon,

I see what you mean. Yes, I guess what I call a vang/Preventer or boom
brake is more forward than it is on most boats. I decided on this after
carefully considering all the possibilities. Next time out on the boat I
will take a picture of the Vang Preventer when it is rigged and attached
to the padeye in the side deck so you can see the rigging angle and how
I have it set up. This is very hard to explain in an email and can be
done with fewer words and a good picture. The way I have it working has
been very effective. I'll follow up with more details once I have a
picture to post.
