My Baba 30 is rigged for reefing the way you suggest. A clam cleat several inches abaft the winch (mounted on the port side of the boom abaft the exit for the topping lift) takes the strain on the first reef pennant so that the winch is free for the second reef. The system works well, except that I have a fully battened main (a mistake I think) that makes reefing tough when singlehanding. Of course, that's when you want it to be easy.
