Don,
We had blisters as well, though not as large and not as concentrated as the
picture shown.
When we had our boat hauled out in Portland, OR for refinishing of the
topsides, I asked them about the blisters. This yard felt they weren't of
concern and suggested to grind out all the blisters and let the boat dry. I
would say there were maybe 50 blisters in all. They ground out the blisters
and the boat sat on the hard for nearly two years. Before splashdown, I
epoxied and faired the ground out areas and have not seen any reoccurrence
since.
These blisters were caught on the survey. We opened up one of them. This
showed that the blister was actually under the barrier coat - the result of
a poor job by the p.o. However, most of the other blisters had actually
entered the laminate, but it wasn't destructive at all. Not enough to
warrant a peel.

How bad is this? See photo
I was able to get photos of the bottom taken during haul out on this
Baba 30 I am buying. I still have opportunity to back out of the deal,
but if this is minor and can be deferred, as the surveyor suggested, I
will accept it as is. And, if it is something I can do myself as many
articles suggest, then it is no big deal. I have read a lot online about
blisters and fully understand that "there two kinds of boats; those with
blisters and those that will have them.".
So, I don't want to make a mountain out of a few blisters, but I'm still
nervous.
Don
