How have all you Baba-30 owners found your boat to best heave-to? We were
just trying ours out, in a good amount of wind, 30 kts or so.
We were out with the staysail set, and a triple-reefed main, on a close
reach. What we tried first was to tack, and keep the old staysail
sheet sheeted tight, and keep the main sheeted fairly tight too. What she
seemed to want to do, was to just set sail on the new tack,
with the old sheet happily keeping the jib on that course! Any tips, like
where the rudder should be set to? Do you heave-to with just the mainsail?
Or do we need storm sails to make it work correctly?
