I concur with Tom: something's not right here. A mis-firing (i.e.,
non-firing) cylinder sounds like a reasonable guess. Possible causes
include slipped valve settings, etc., but I'd be inclined to suspect a
clogged injector or fuel line first. How's your fuel, the filters,
etc.? Do you see an oily sheen in the discharge from the exhaust?
Unburned diesel fuel would show up in the water coming from the exhaust.
