Ambassador Marine The company that manufactures this cutter states it will cut thro 3/4 3strand nylon plus nets and other things like plastic supermarket bags.
This cutter was tested in Sailing mag and got top marks.
To see more on this cutter goto www.ropestripper.com.
As seen in there writeup the company makes what thay call spacemakers to extend the gap between the prop and the stern gland to give room to fit this cutter.

Subject: RE: [Baba-L] propeller protector

Going back to the topic at hand, I'm a bit uncomfortable with line cutters. A) the
enclosed prop is generally fairly resistant to inhaling warps from traps (yes,
obviously it can happen and, in fact, I once wrapped an errant dock line [not mine, at least, but
a dock neighbor's] around OWTW's shaft - OTOH, we sail through areas "mined" with floats
and warps from crab traps and [knocking on wood] never had a problem), B) I'm not happy
about depriving a waterman of his gear just so I can "cut it and forget it", and C) the
notion of diving, in near zero visibility, on the prop with sharp stuff sticking out
strikes me as an unhappy event waiting to happen. Further, at least on OWTW, there
simply isn't room for a cutting collar and a collar zinc and room for water to circulate
past the cutlass bearing.

Just my 2% of a dollar's worth of thought...

Cheers,
Rick Emerson
