Ahoy mates,

Great pictures.

Birds that land on your BABA are very special indeed. We had some
hitch a ride on Querencia in more than one adventure, including
larger sea birds, far at sea, and once, closer to land, cockatiels
that eventually became pets.

It might be worth noting, however, that this year, and 2005, have
been very bad years for birds.

Millions have died from, or been culled due to, the H5N1 virus or
bird flu.

While transmission to humans is unlikely at the moment and sketchy
when it seems to have happened, caution when handling wild birds is
probably good advice, even though the U.S. so far has escaped infection.
