  I might be a purest.

But there is no such thing as a beautiful cat,

Unless, of course it has 4 legs.

Yes, Polynesia/society islands look great for a charter destination but last evening I was researching it and realized that November is the rainy season for that area and the Thanksgiving week was the week that I planned to go. I guess I will have to sail my own boat there one day...if I can ever break free from the land ties.

After speaking to two charter companies yesterday on the phone and going through the various destinations with them I am now considering the British Virgin Islands for two reasons; I have a wonderful girlfriend that will be one of the three crew members on this trip. She is just gettting into sailing and I want to pick a place that will be easy sailing so she will be more likely to have a great time and fall in love with sailing. According to two different charter companies if you have crew that are new to sailing the best place to charter is the BVI, due to the line of sight sailing and protected areas that one can sail within between the anchorages. The second reason is I can charter a brand new Lagoon 440 in BVI and that is a very nice cat. Its funny that I have chosen a "heavy displacement cat" being that I am a Panda owner, but it is a beautiful cat, albeit a slow one.
