Mine seems to drain fine, it is not fast but drains through a check =
valve
then the hull valve. On occasion I hook the small wet/dry shot vac and =
blow
it out… oh, be careful to seal the other sink drain or you will end up =
with
water in your face. This simple monthly maintenance keeps the drain free =
and
clear.

Subject: [Baba-L] Galley drain
Ours never drained very well either - perhaps because we are so =
overloaded
with the things you can't leave behind...There was no fall (hydraulic =
head
for youse engineers) for the water, it just oozed out to the bottom of =
the
sink and stayed there. Anyway, we attached a Jabsco macerator pump to =
the
drain and it empties it out fast, and keeps the seawater - and grease =
etc -
away from the bottom of the sink. The Jabsco acts as its own checkvalve =
as
well. For our situation, we put in a push (momentary) switch between =
foot
pumps at the base of the counter with the sink to activate the Jabsco =
pump
by foot, freeing up our hands to do other things.
