I will not quote from your e-mail since it is now getting confusing.

I did check the SweetTank specs and it draws 3 watts which would be
.25 amps. I think a solar panel would keep up with that. I wonder
if it would make sense to put it on a timer so that it might only
pump away for a few hours a day. Anyway, if I am in open water, I
will pump out to the sea. If I am at a dock, I will pump out at the
marina. And, otherwise, I will be on the boat monitoring power.

I see your point re "blockage" of the aeration tube.

You really have to know more about the Baba 30 set-up to see the
issues re vents etc. We will get some photos posted so you can see
the issue. What I do not understand re two vents is how do you
assure there will be a flow - i.e. how does one make one vent and in
and the other an out without some type of fan.

I have an existing vent on the side of the cabin top. I was going to
replace that with a vent just under the toe rail.

As to the LectraSan - which is plenty expensive - that would be fine,
but, that means I cannot sail my boat up to Block Island and Rhode
Island. Plus, the Lectra San is not so small. Of course, the ideal
set-up is the LectraSan plus a holding tank, but, I have no space for
that on a Baba 30.

I really hope that some engineering can be done to miniaturize the
LectaSan - but Raritan does not seem to be into that.

Just as an example, I marvel at the size of the the new marine
refrigerators such as the Frigoboat - I understand that the Italian
engineers worked at that for years.

Since the European Union is now addressing marine sanitation, perhaps
we will get some decent sanitary engineering out of Europe - i.e.
look at the sophisitication of Tek-Tanks versus the US counterparts.

I do not see why there cannot be some more investment into the pumps
and other components in marine sanitary engineering. I have hoped
that Boat US/ EPA would fund this research and development if EPA
wants to impose these basically politically correct restrictions on
us anyway. As far as I am concerned, except in marinas and up the
creek and where boats are concentrated, the recreational boat is far
less of an environmental problem on the bay compared to chickens,
deer, catle, and storm overflow - like .001% of a problem compared to
those souces.

The best holding tank is immodium.
