Thanks for the comments. I have decided to keep looking for other Baba
boats. For those interested, this 35 had Formica inserts in the ceiling,
they had been painted. Everything looked original to me, a yet to be
certified Babatarian. The floor had been stripped and refinished and as
mentioned before the cabin cleaned and areas varnished. Plus a new
electrical panel was installed. Outside where the heater had vented, a teak
cover is installed. It was here that I noticed what looked like fresh
chalking or a fiberglass repair unpainted. All around the opening is a 2
inch smear of, I guess, epoxy resin. It was left as, 'he plans to paint the
cabin top.' The boat which had no name was otherwise, visually in excellent
shape. I would have made an offer that day. Also I do not thank it was
actually ever on fire. I lean toward the
I-forgot-the-heater-was-on-and-melted-the-vent-hole-smoked-the-cabin
until-the-tank-ran-dry idea. As my wife pointed out, now you know why it was
for sale. Will I get kicked off if I buy a Hans Christian? Matt
