I had a similar issue with my Baba 35 hatch cover. I took it off to
refinish it only, but upon inspection, decided to rebuild it. Mine was
made of solid teak with the exception of the top section having a piece of
plywood under the teak decking. Re-building was simple. Remove the hatch
cover, unscrew all the teak deck strips ( I seem to remember they somehow
stayed together), remove the old plywood, put a new piece in, screw it all
back together.

Rather than try to bend the plywood (3/8's inch), I cut grooves every inch
and a half (on the inside radius of the bend) to allow the new piece to
flex to the correct shape. I also epoxied the entire inside and laid a
piece of fiberglass for increased strength and resistance to water for the
plywood (plywood and boats do not mix, but sometimes its a necessary
evil). Re-caulk and then refinish (in my case I left it bare as all my
teak is left). Total coast probably $100 (assume you have to buy a half
sheet of marine grade ply and a tube of caulk - I assume as a boat owner
that you already have a little cloth and epoxy laying around). A good
winter-weekend project.

And yes, my cover pulled off with just removing the screws - no glue.
