If you were using Mozilla Firefox as your browser, you'd never see an ad
or a popup...and if you also download and add on their ad blocker and
cookie blocker, no site would able to plant any personal data collection
cookies or any other kind.

Every computer savvy PC user I know uses Firefox now. I've used it for
about a year now...when I bought a new computer, I used IE just once--to
access the 'net so I could get to Firefox and download it. For email, I
use Thunderbird, which is the companion to Firefox, instead of Outlook.

Both are a no-brainer to install and use. I "converted" an 80 yr old
family friend who'd been using AOL. When she was on AOL, rarely a week
went by that she didn't call me to help her with a problem. Since she's
been using Firefox and T'bird 6 months ago, she's only needed help once.

Google "Firefox" or "Mozilla" to read all about 'em.

I wouldn't go back to IE or Outlook if they paid me to do it!

(None of this has any bearing on the future of this list, btw...just
suggesting to Richard--and anyone else who might be interested--how he
can improve his life on the net immeasurably.)
