Is that ABYC? - many years ago, I (gulp) was on a power boat an idiot
friend of mine had in the USVI - a hose to a thru-hull above the
water line in the stern area was too close to the engine, and melted
through - in the meantime, the boat was planing and the above water
line thru hull was intermittenlty below water line - so little by
little the stern was filling up with water and getting lower and
lower, until, soon it was below the water line for good and the boat
started filling up and when we figured this out, to my amazement,
there was no seacock. I forget how we stopped the water - but I do
know we made it back to the dock.
