RigRite mast wedges

I ordered a set of hard
rubber mast wedges from RigRite in Warwick, RI (www.rigrite.com -
surprise!). They're a little spendy at $8 a piece for the smaller
NGA-18's and $9 a piece for larger NGA-19's (see the web site for the
full specs, dimensions, etc.) plus S&H but, at least, fresh out of
the box, they look pretty good. As I think mentioned before, the
previous rigging company (Chesapeake Rigging) installed Delrin blocks
to locate the mast in the partners. Bad idea. Delrin is slippery,
even when supposedly secured with caulk/adhesive. Wood is the old-time
solution but finding good hard wood for the job is, IMHO, a challenge.
So RigRite got the nod. I'll know more when I stuff these puppies in
place. [grin]
Cheers,
Rick Emerson
