Scott and Debbie,

I hope that applies to my 1982 engine. It barely has 1800 hours on it, and I've put about 400 of them on.

    Troy,

We owned a 1977 Hans Christian with an MD-11 VOlvo and had the same question. Finally, the local Volvo repair shop said that these older volvo engines had so much nickle in the castings, that they didn't fit them with a zinc. That made us feel better about the issue.

  Regards,

I have repeatedly studied the three manuals I have on the Volvo MD11 engine but can find no reference to a internal sacrificial zinc in the cooling system path to protect the engine from electrolysis from the raw water cooling system. I have also systematically searched the internet for mention of this part.

Does anyone know whether this part exists and, if so, where it is located.

  Thanks,
