Without seeing your decks, it's hard to suggest a course of action. You
may have a minor problem, where patching will be effective, or you may
have a Problem, in which case patching might be a waste of time and
effort. We had our decks recaulked and discovered that the planks
aren't quite what they seem (no pun intended). Specifically, in many
places, Ta Shing cut grooves in planks that appear to be three planks
wide. That is, there's an edge, a "plank", a groove, a second "plank",
a groove, the third "plank", and an edge. In effect, two of the three
deck seams are pretty much just for show. It's something to keep in
mind when it comes time to get rid of old caulk.
