Which is precisely why we stayed with WinXP. AFAIK, Apple doesn't
impose this draconian measure. There is also the possibility that
Linux, running the Wine Windows emulator, will support a program like
Coastal Explorer. Wine is not for the faint of heart to install and set
up, but it would certainly avoid issues of authentication. I might just
look into this "just 'cause...".
