We ran into Bob and his wife, Sueno, off the NE shore of Puerto Rico in
2003. I think the spelling on their boat name is Fridur II.
We were at anchor and saw them come into the anchorage off Isla Palaminos
near Fajardo. I was waiting for my new SSB. I was able to recognize that
it was a Baba... so we "had" to dinghy over to chat. We had a wonderful
evening with them and even communicated a few times after we all returned to
the mainland US.
It was nice to get other Baba 30 cruiser's input since we still had about a
year to go on our trip.
One thing I did that was a suggestion by Bob was to trim out the drains in
the well forward of the Samson post so it would drain faster and I would get
less water leaking past my plastic bags on my anchor hawse holes...of course
then it goes under my V berth and thru my bilge to the sump under the
engine. The more open drains worked better but don't drop any small parts
in there!
I was glad to hear Bob was still out cruising and the Abacos are a great
place to hang. A little more developed but still nice. We really miss the
Bahamas.
BTW, buy the Explorer Charts of the Bahamas and you won't regret it. Also
available on CD.
