The "ground isolator" I mentioned is really called a "galvanic isolator." It
in effect, isolates the shore ground leg from the ship's ground. West Marine
has them in their new catalog for $200 and $400 for the 30 amp system. I
never could afford one before and since getting one after so many years of
premature haul outs and hiring divers to change zincs (and possible
undisclosed metal losses to underwater fittings), I discover now I could
not, not afford one.
