Jon,

The kedge anchor and the stern anchor can be the same. Attached is a
picture of our Fortress stern anchor which is light and can be quickly
deployed as a kedge should we go aground. Some of the suggestions for
storing the rode given by the other posts are very good and something I
need to rearrange myself.
