Jon,

On our Baba 40 we have a hanging canvas/net bag under the howse pipe on the
stern cap rail which accepts the stern/kedge anchor chain (the kedge hanging
on the stern rail). The rode is stored in the cockpit locker in a separate
bag. The rode can be used as an additional 200' of line for what ever
reason. This way we can get to the other side of the stern behind the
rudder stock if needed. Plus, it allows the anchor chain to dry out some,
hanging in the bag that way.

I would not loose the Kedge. We have a Fortress for this purpose, light,
strong, and handy.
