I just had my head down there yesterday - we're hauled out for maintenance.
One of the items was to check hose clamps and general health of the PYI PSS
we fitted three years ago. It's doin' good. No problems there.

One constantly seeks to reduce the burden of boat maintenance (including
safety risk and cost). When one can fit something that works, doesn't
require constant checking and worry, then one is free to do other - more fun
- things.

In my experience, it's rare to find something that achieves these goals.
(The @#$ feathering 3-blade prop I've fitted sure as heck doesn't...that's
my task today to sort out...grr)

Go for the dripless shaft seal. Repent from your flax-filled stuffing box
ways.
