Hello group,
Unfortunately, divorce reached me in year 6 forcing me to seek a new home.
Going back to the familiar (liveaboard Sausalito), I searched for a Bay Area
boat ultimately finding what used to be my dreamboat, a Baba 30. The problem
is it "used to be" my dreamboat. That was when I was younger and obsessed
with cruising. Well, I kinda got that out of my system after many ocean
miles and now prefer spending my waking hours on land. I thought the Baba 30
would serve me well as a liveaboard, but I am going to look for something
roomier (probably power, be nice).
So... my current plan is to do a few of the obvious cosmetic projects needed
on the boat and list it for sale Spring or Summer.
My two biggest issues are-
Topside brightwork, needs lots of stripping, I know how.
And, delaminating cabin interior ceiling. Am I alone with this problem? I
could not find mention in list archives. What is the best (easiest) way to
deal with?
And then.... since I am amongst Baba lovers, does anyone out there know of
someone interested in buying this boat?
Basic facts-
3 good sails, Autohelm Windvane, wheel, teak deck, new bottom, Volvo
midlife. Boat is otherwise pretty basic- no furling, dodger, fancy
electronics or windlass. She was a loved boat most of her life (until seller
got a divorce). He was original owner.
I got a great deal on this boat, and if anyone else would rather do
mentioned projects (because I am REALLY busy with other life issues), they
could get a great deal also. Just throwing it out there.
