Dear Van
first let me say that Yanmars numbering lettering combos are at best
cryptic. If it is the original engine then it is a 3GMF the F stands for
fresh water cooling hence a heat exchanger. We have the same engine in
our Baba 84 I don't have my factory manuel at home but for sure the
engine is rated at 20hp @3400 rpm and displaces 1.0 litre they share few
if any parts with the Ym series. They are a good engine and less complex
/stressed compared with the new ym series engine though we find that
3100rpm is maximum comfortable cruising rpm where you are putting app+/-
16.5 hp to the shaft. As long as we don't have head winds or head seas
or contrary current all is well with the 20hp. I have become pretty
familiar with the 3gmf over the last three years I'll bring the manual
home if you have any more questions.

Best Regards Rick Ballreich SV Mandisa
