The five numbers after the FDI (the manufacturers ID Code) is the
Hull Serial Number

So, 30017 is a Hull Number 17 of a Baba 30.

The 0178 means January, 1978.

But, as to Don's number FDI 301250483, perhaps he copied it down incorrectly.

I think by April 1983, we were beyond hulll 125 ...
