A dock neighbor regularly used Semco products on his Tashiba's decks and
would up with a re-caulk job. The surface skinned over and looked OK
but below the skin the caulk softened up and was described as being like
pudding. Another dock neighbor decided to take the cheap route and
tried Thompson's Water Seal. One application was enough to ruin their
decks' caulking. Semco specifically cautions that their product may
soften some caulks. "Read and heed."
