While at Block Island several years ago, I talked with a new Bab40 owner who
had just purchased his boat from a couple in Maine who had stored it in a
heated facility . . . it was in bristol condition . . . including the decks
. . . it looked as though it had just left the factory . . .

I hate to raise the issue of laying up for the winter, but at 42
degrees north that will be upon us soon! We have an option of
keeping the Baba 30 indoors with heat to about 55-60 F. It prevents
the necessity of winterizing in an area that can get to -20 and makes
visiting her in the depth of winter much easier. The other option
is to keep her indoors but at ambient temperature. A good friend on
our dock with a similar boat said he was warned against using heated
storage as the extreme drying effects could damage the teak decks.
Has anyone had experience with heated vs. cold storage through nasty
winters?
