A P.S. to the letter just sent on the Autohelm vane.
Monitor offers an optional rudder extension to their vane, giving it
steering capability in the event the
boat's system goes down. Perhaps Fleming or others now offer the same
option. It would be interesting
to have some feedback if someone has fitted such an extension at sea
and how it performed in it's
reconfigured operation.
