Admin - More on the AOL issues

Hi Folks,

One of the things that's bugged me about the AOL blocking issue is the
fact that some messages get through and some don't. Last night I did
some digging through the logs and found that AOL appears to be passing
"plain-text" messages and blocking "rich-text" messages - especially
those created in Outlook - which are sent through the list. It's the
combination of the list software and the MIME encoding that appears to
be the problem. (All of the rejected messages contain an X-MimeOLE: header.)

I don't know why this combination would cause problems for AOL, but it
does appear to be the pattern. I'm not going to be a list Nazi or
anything like that, but I urge folks to change your settings to
plain-text if possible. Perhaps some Outlook guru will be able to tell
the group how to set up an Outlook address for the group that will send
to the group with plain-text, while still letting you use rich-text for
work and other emails.
