Many solutions to the same problem . . . I put SS angle iron along the edges
of the side/bottom of the bow sprit and no more bow sprit dings . . . very
minimal weight addition because the SS can be relatively thin . . . looks
great . . cheap and cheerful . . .

serious because I dislike having the anchor hit against the sprit. A picture
