Hi everyone,

After a good crawl to the back of my baba 30 today I noticed a bit of a =
mess
on the backstay chainplate bolts. The picture shows the three bolts in a
vertical line that are the bottom bolts of the backstay chainplate
surrounded by the 6 bolts that hold the Hydrovane self steering gear on. =


It appears that under the cracked fibreglass there is a rusty backing =
plate.

It seems a strange setup and looks like the backing plate has been =
glassed
over then the bolts tightened up cracking through the glass, also the =
cavity
seems to have collected water. Does anyone know how the boat is =
constructed
in the area?
