We solved the problem of the anchor chain rubbing on the bobstay by using
two anchor smubbers. We have a "U" shaped piece of steel that grabs the
chain. Then we have one nylon snubber coming from each sice of the U
piece, one going through the port hawse hole and the other through the
starboard. We let the snubbers out far enough so that the U piece is below
the bobstay (it is under water). The chain runs down from the U piece and
does not rub on the bobstay.
