The best test is to head where the commercial fishing guys are and see
what they have. Downtime and poor performance don't help keep the catch
up. It's been a while, IIRC, since Practical Sailor looked at radars. My
recollection is they didn't rave about Koden, though.


Our R-20X Raytheon has never been quite right since a neighbor's boat
was hit by lightning (I ssume we caught a side flash). Still, I keep it
because all of the new stuff is sooooo expensive and soooo integrated
and sooooo system oriented and sooooooooooo pricey. I do not look
forward to the day the "God's eye TV" poops out.
